The Everblades enter this weekend's two game set against Pensacola with a record of 27-14-2, with 56 points. Pensacola brings up the rear of the American Conference South with the dismal record of 14-30-2, 30 points. It can be safely said at this point of the season that the IcePilots are out of contention for the playoffs, barring complete collapse by the Inferno, Stingrays, Checkers, and Lynx.
On paper, this bodes well for the Florida Everblades. In reality, this home set takes on some importance. Thus far, the Blades have played the Pilots 5 times with only 3 wins, one of the two losses coming in overtime. The IcePilots have been difficult for the Blades this season. This is a team the Everblades should beat handily, but for the lack of physical play by the Blades and the difficulty they seem to have at playing a full 60 minutes.
On the positive side, while the Pilots are carrying 6 healthy "D" men (notable names Jason Goulet and recent Everblade Niko Tuomi), several IcePilot skaters are down with illness, so the team will be skating very short. Now is the time to take whatever advantage can be had.
Kinkel is gone from the Blades, with the true reason still unknown. Speculation abounds, but it sounds good for Bill, so we wish him well. In the meantime, we have no protection for our smaller snipers.

Can't imagine what we'll see at tonight's game. Ice Pilots rested today - not at arena for pre-game skate. I'm sure the short-bench was the reason for the no skating, as they need all the rest they can get.
A 5-3 game is NOT what the Blades thought they were gonna end up with. The last team in the standings and short-benched at that - should've been a goal scoring free-for-all for the 'Blades. But something's missing in our equation....heart?....desire?....motivation.....talent? I know they're talented - individually AND as a team. And the ones I know have the heart - so what's the deal? Every season about this time we see this team go into a funk. So why? I'm gonna say it's discipline.
EBG its also very likely that the blades knew they would win so they decided to take it easy and not use a lot of energy... the thing is I go to these games to be entertained... we got a win and thats great.... but I still pay money to see these guys play hard no to see them FUCKING AROUND ON THE ICE!!!!!!!!!! tonight is going to be just as interesting... they damn near beat us last night, whast does it say about the blades if we end up with a split this weekend.... not to mention were at home....

That entire game last night seemed in slow motion... We are very lucky our collective asses weren't handed to us, as the IcePilots seemed pretty much ready to play.
After they scored that second goal, you could see they thought they could win the game.
Damn. Hope it gets better tonight.

GREAT GAME BOYS!!!! we did let up in the 3rd. period BUT 5-1 is good enough for me. the ASSPILOTS played more physical than I thought and the referee had some pretty bad calls and he missed some calls but overall it was a good game. I thought for sure BUSSY and SULLIVAN would go at it but they never did. I would have loved to see BUSSY lay him out though, I mena KNOCK HIM THE FUCK OUT!!! SULLIVAN has always been a pain in our ass. BRINDLEY should have become a baseball player, that puck damn near made it to the press boxes.
PFRANK I am all for this blog, keep posting and so will I. BTW I saw you eyeballing that EVERBABE.

The Pilots were out of gas early in the game, you could see it. That was a pretty good ass-whuppin'.

--at the expense of the worst team in the ECHL that is.

Outside Norfolk, I guess all I have to look forward to is games vs Texas, GWT, and Charlotte.
